Notes

Provides a platform for collaboration and reducing duplication in producing alerting services for health.

How does CASH work?

At the hub of the CASH website is a database which is used to capture all the latest publications from a selection of high quality sources, organised under a category structure. The content can then be used by LKS to produce personalised CAS for their own customers.

Key Service Features

  • Fully searchable database – this could be a source to supplement your own CAS
  • RSS newsfeeds – subscribe to as many as you like to produce web based service or email bulletins for your customers
  • Current awareness bulletins – freely available for you to modify and distribute, please acknowledge the original producer!
  • Know How section containing help and support for CAS including best practice guidance and a range of resources

Quality and Development

CASH is run by a Steering Group. They hold bi-annual meetings to discuss and monitor the progress of the service and ensure its continued quality and performance.

Notes

KnowledgeShare is a system for streamlining the provision of NHS library and knowledge services.  It enables collaboration and greater accessibility for LKS members.

KnowledgeShare includes the ability to deliver highly targeted, personalised evidence updates to hundreds or thousands of LKS members with little effort.

Evidence updates are focused on high-level clinical evidence, local evidence, and health management.  Over 1000 new publications are added every month covering all healthcare and public health fields.

The emails are short and targeted and depend on a combination of the member’s clinical interests, managerial interests, their profession and the setting they work in.

KnowledgeShare also improves the management of information skills teaching and evidence searches, enables the sharing of search results, and provides reporting on impact and activity of these three core services.

There is an annual licence cost for the service and you can contact Ben Skinner at ben.skinner@bsuh.nhs.uk to find out more.

Library and Knowledge Service managers say:

“I just wanted you to know that we love KnowledgeShare; current awareness made quick and simple, fabulous!”

“KnowledgeShare is (without a doubt) the most exciting thing in my work life at the moment”

“It’s a fantastic resource and we all love it… The email updates are incredibly popular and make us look extremely professional and efficient J”
