If your service is facing significant challenges there are several sources of potential help and advice.
i) Your local HEE library lead – http://www.libraryservices.nhs.uk/lksl/lkslcontacts/ Working across a geography, connected to the wider business of Health Education England and operating as a network in their own right, HEE library leads are well positioned to provide support and guidance to service managers about a range of different issues.
ii) Local library network lists – post a query and tap into the expertise and experience of your peers.
iii) Your local champions and stakeholders – these are the people with the detailed local knowledge about your particular circumstances and will understand the background and politics relevant to your situation.
iv) Colleagues in the team or immediate locality – can provide a sounding board for new ideas as well as a sympathetic ear for difficult issues.
v) the Learning Zone has a section on Advocacy – http://kfh.libraryservices.nhs.uk/learning-zone/generic-skills/advocacy/
