Resource Discovery Reference Group

The HEE Resource Discovery Team take advice from this reference group.

Membership includes NHS and HEI librarians, and colleagues from NICE.

Its role:

  • Ensures work stream planning and activity reflects :
    • the principles and values of Knowledge for Healthcare
    • existing and emerging end-user and library staff needs
  • Puts in place processes to effectively capture and understand end-user and library needs
  • Ensures resource discovery and delivery activity at regional and local levels aligns and integrates with national strategy
  • Identifies trends and developments
  • Identifies and manage barriers and risks
  • Ensures effective communication and engagement
  • Promotes resources, systems and work stream outputs
  • Identifies and exploits opportunities for partnership working

SINC (Strategic Inter-Network Collaboration Group)

Manages the reciprocal inter-library loan and document supply scheme (INC) for NHS libraries in England.

Its purpose:

  • Ensures NHS funded content is readily discoverable by NHS libraries to enable them to fulfil document supply across the NHS in England, efficiently and cost-effectively
  • Ensures NHS library document supply is of a consistently high quality and meets/exceeds expectations of customers
  • Ensures document supply considerations are included in HEE’s Knowledge for Healthcare Resource Discovery work.
